Information we collect
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• You are representing your organisation.

• You are an employee, creditor, director, member or debtor of an insolvent company or individual that we are dealing with (separate Privacy Notices cover these in more detail).

• We have been asked to contact you by a third party which represents or advises you, such as accountant, lawyer or banker (at your request to them).

Information through our website
When you sign up to participate in or receive a service from www.LMInsolvency.co.uk, the online registration system records information such as your name, postal address, email address and phone number, It may ask you to set up a username and/or password if you want access to controlled areas, including the portal. We also collect email addresses of those who subscribe to our newsletter, the email addresses of those who communicate with us via email, and aggregate information on what pages you may access or visit.

The information we collect is also: used to improve the content of our web page; used to notify you about updates to our website; used to deliver our newsletter; disclosed when legally required to do so at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation; to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our website and applicable laws or to protect against misuse or unauthorised use of our website.

Free consultations and Service customers (Prior to any Insolvency appointment)
Where you use this website to ask us to supply you with a service (such as a free consultation, and/or advice on options), we have a lawful purpose for processing your data in order to fulfill our obligation to you. Thereafter, we may contact you occasionally by email, or phone in respect of further services or advice. We believe we have a legitimate interest in keeping in touch with you in this way, but we will nonetheless cease to do so if requested by you. Marketing activities and e-newsletter
We currently do not undertake any marketing activities with the information we collect through our website, other than occasionally on our e-newsletter which you specifically subscribe to. We contact our clients and subscribers by email for marketing purposes via the MailChimp platform. Whenever you receive a marketing email from us, you will have the option to unsubscribe completely from future marketing and e-newsletters, or you can contact us if you wish us to tailor the contact further. If you no longer wish to receive any such mailings, you may either use the unsubscribe function located at the bottom of each marketing email, or e-newsletter, or alternatively email us at lucinda@lminsolvency.co.uk and we will amend our records accordingly.

We do not currently undertake any marketing via post.

People who supply us with their telephone numbers online will only receive telephone contact from us with information regarding their enquiries or our services they have placed in writing or online.

Privacy information for different categories of people
The nature of an insolvency practice is such that confidential information, including personal data, will come into our hands on the ordinary conduct of our business activities. This will include circumstances such as:

• When undertaking marketing and networking, including e-newsletters

• When advising prospective clients about their circumstances;

• When conducting formal insolvency appointments

For each category of person (“data subject”) that we deal with, there is a corresponding Privacy Notice which describes what personal data we may hold about them; why we consider it to be lawful for us to hold that data; how long we intend to hold it for and for what purpose(s) it will be used. Privacy Notices are available for clients and parties connected with formal insolvency appointments and those whom are provided advice
